Online advertising gets a lot of attention, but for local businesses, print is still one of the most effective ways to reach customers on your doorstep. Here are six affordable ideas that work for cafés, shops, trades and service businesses.
1. Flyers and leaflets
Flyers are cheap to print in bulk and can go straight into the hands of people near your business. Use them for menus, opening offers, new services or door drops in your area. Include one clear offer and an easy way to get in touch.
2. A pavement sign outside your door
An A-frame or swinger sign catches people walking past and can be updated with new offers. It is one of the simplest ways to turn passing footfall into customers. See our pavement signs.
3. Window posters
Your shop window is free advertising space. Use bold A2 or A1 posters to show offers, seasonal products or events – and change them regularly so regular passers-by notice something new.
4. Signs on your van
If you have a van, every journey is a chance to advertise. Magnetic signs are a low-cost option that you can remove at weekends, while full van graphics make the biggest impression.
5. Business cards that people keep
A good-quality business card is still the easiest way to leave your details with a customer or supplier. Keep the design simple and make sure your phone number, website and email are easy to read.
6. NFC review cards and stands
Google reviews help new customers choose you over a competitor. With an NFC review card or stand, happy customers simply tap their phone and land straight on your review page – making it far more likely they will leave one.
